Three User Roles

The platform uses a hierarchical role system to manage permissions and capabilities effectively while maintaining security.

Regular
Community Members
What They Can Do:
  • View all public boards
  • Upvote and downvote cards
  • Comment on cards
  • Earn points through engagement
  • Enter prize drawings automatically
  • Access leaderboards
  • Submit ideas to User-Submitted Deals
  • Update their own profile
What They Cannot Do:
  • Create new boards
  • Add cards to existing boards
  • Moderate content
  • Access admin functions
Company
Content Creators
Everything Regular Users Can Do PLUS:
  • Create new boards
  • Add cards to any board
  • Edit cards they created
  • Set card status (Open/Closed)
  • Moderate comments on their content
  • Create weekly "Now" boards
  • Manage board details and descriptions
  • Set board point requirements
What They Cannot Do:
  • Change other users' roles
  • Ban users
  • Access prize management
  • View sensitive admin data
Admin
Platform Owners
Everything Company Users Can Do PLUS:
  • Manage all user accounts
  • Change user roles
  • Ban/unban users
  • Manage prizes and drawings
  • Delete any content
  • Access all admin panels
  • View platform analytics
  • Configure platform settings
  • Manage video content
Protected: Admin role cannot be changed by other users for security.

Most users are "Regular" members who engage with content, build points, and win prizes. This keeps the platform focused on community engagement.

Content Creation

"Company" role allows trusted team members to create weekly boards and manage content without access to sensitive admin functions.

Security

Admin privileges are restricted to platform owners only, ensuring security while allowing delegation of content creation tasks.

Scalability

Team members can be promoted to help with content creation without needing to share admin credentials.

How Role Changes Work

Admin-Only Role Management

Only Admin users can change user roles through the admin user management interface. This ensures security and proper oversight.
